It’s been a hot summer here in Richmond, and on those sweltering, sunny days, nothing beats the heat like a day at the pool. So, I thought I’d share some of the most amazing pools at a few of my favorite properties. Offering crystal-clear waters, breathtaking views, refined poolside dining, and serene wellness amenities, it’s hard to say which one stands out the most! Ready to dive in?

Belmond Reid’s Palace, Madeira, Portugal

Set among sprawling botanical gardens, this gorgeous historical property is an absolute gem in Portugal. Guests can relax in luxury as they enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from one of Reid’s two heated pools. The third pool is carved into the cliffside at sea level, offering a truly immersive seaside experience. You can float just steps from the open ocean and seamlessly slip between the crystal-clear pool and the shimmering Atlantic waves.
To cap off a perfect day of swimming and basking in the sun, be sure to visit the resort’s Michelin-starred restaurant, William. And don’t forget, as a preferred partner with Belmond, booking with me comes with extra perks, including early check-in, late check-out, complimentary breakfasts, and resort credit!
Rosewood Hotel de Crillon, Paris, France

This particular pool has been deemed the Versailles of pools, and it’s easy to see why. Accented in teal and gold, this luxurious pool can be found under the skylight in Rosewood Hotel de Crillon’s spa alongside the sauna, marble hammam, and Himalayan salt wall.
After enjoying one of the spa’s bespoke facial or massage treatments, we recommend indulging in some poolside treats. Champagne, freshly baked croissants and macarons, fruit, and herbal teas allow you to delight in all the facility has to offer like a true Parisian!
Estelle Manor, England

Step back in time and experience the life of ancient royalty in Estelle Manor’s stunning pools and baths. The Roman-inspired, 3,000 square meter spa features five Roman-style baths framed by grand stone columns and timeless architecture. This is in addition to the heated outdoor pool, which is set on a beautiful Riviera-inspired terrace, with panoramic views over acres of lush gardens.
You can’t miss the signature thermal journey, taking place over six different thermal areas used in ancient Roman times – Frigidarium, Caldarium, Tepidarium, Hay Sauna, and more. Along the journey, guests also visit the Hideaway, a hidden oasis framed by a cascading waterfall, greenery, native wildflowers and ferns.
Belmond Cap Juluca, Anguilla

This resort is nestled in its own secluded slice of Caribbean paradise and has everything you need to disconnect in style. From basking in the sun in the stunning infinity edge pool, to lounging on the tree-lined sunbathing deck, to sea-inspired wellness treatments at the spa, there is no shortage of opportunities to relax and recharge.
A suite with a private pool is the perfect choice for travelers looking to experience the pinnacle of luxury and comfort. Whichever pool you choose to take a plunge into at Belmond Cap Juluca, you’ll be taking in picture-perfect views of Anguilla’s crystal blue waters that you’ll never want to leave behind.
Beverly Hills Hotel, California

This last pool is an absolute classic! A combination of all the best parts of retro-Hollywood charm and modern indulgence, this brightly colored paradise has been an icon since it first opened in 1938. Poolside cabanas and frozen drinks offer further respite from the hot LA sun.
Join the ranks of Hollywood legends who’ve lounged in this city oasis for the better part of a century. While you’re at it, you can enjoy a laid-back, al fresco lunch from the Cabana Cafe.
