Trip Report - Team Trip to Los Cabos!

It was so exciting to finally get our whole team together in one place for our very first team trip to Los Cabos! Cabo has always been a popular vacation destination, and for a good reason. We spent a few days exploring the area and researching what’s new in the world of luxury resorts in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.
We covered a lot of ground on this trip because we want to be able to offer our clients the best of what Cabo has to offer. Each of the resorts we visited offer exclusive travel advisor amenities, like free breakfasts, resort credit, free upgrades, early check-ins and late check-outs. I’m excited to share some of our favorite parts of the trip, listed in no particular order!
Our Top 3 Resort Recommendations in Los Cabos
Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, San José del Cabo
Las Ventanas al Paraiso is beautifully designed with thoughtful, romantic details at every turn. This was obvious to us right away, as we were welcomed into the resort by a mariachi band playing under twinkling lights and trees full of colorful glass hearts.
Our personal butlers escorted us to our rooms and got us acquainted with the resort’s luxurious amenities. Seven pools each with poolside wait service, a tranquil oasis spa and boutique, and 1920’s inspired speakeasy bar with nightly live music. We were so impressed with all of the special touches that contributed to the authentic feeling of the property. Guests even get to choose their preferred aromatherapy scent for turn down service each night!
From our time at Las Ventanas, dinner at Arbol was certainly one of the biggest highlights! It was a delicious and unique dining experience that really encapsulates the specialness of the resort.

Montage Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas
We immediately fell in love with Montage’s location on the swimmable beach of Santa Maria Bay, a rare gem along the rocky coast of Los Cabos. But exceptional service is really what sets this resort apart! From the moment we entered the lobby and were greeted with hand-crafted margaritas and immediately made to feel like part of the Montage family.
The rooms themselves are bright and luxurious, with stunning views and spacious terraces perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails. And the beds? Truly next-level comfort, we still talk about them!
Montage Los Cabos is the only resort offering a unique on-site diving and ocean adventure center for guests in the Los Cabos area. We made sure to take advantage of their free snorkel rentals to check out the coral reef in the bay.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, Cabo San Lucas
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is the kind of place that quite literally makes an entrance. Nestled in the base of the mountain, the resort is accessible only through a dramatic tunnel carved through the rock, creating a feeling of total escape while still being steps from downtown Cabo San Lucas.
We got to see the property shortly before it closes for a few weeks for major renovations. When it reopens in the fall of 2025, refreshed guest rooms will all feature ocean views and private plunge pools. All while maintaining the Pedregal’s dedication to design elements that reflect the location traditions.
And with multiple pools, a spacious spa, and the acclaimed cliffside restaurant El Farallon, guests have the choice between staying in their slice of paradise all day or venturing into town when the mood strikes.
Vibe: Zen, regional character, classic

Bonus!: Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection, Cabo San Lucas
This resort is a favorite among Brownell advisors and their clients! This resort has lots going on and keeps with the quality of the Auberge resort portfolio. With several pools, snorkeling, kayaking, and clubs for kids and teens, this is a great resort for family trips. But for those trips where you leave the kids behind, the adults-only pool beckons with its luxury cabanas and floating bartenders!

Our Top 3 Dining Experiences in Los Cabos
Arbol at Las Ventanas al Paraíso
This fabulous gourmet restaurant serves dishes featuring local, fresh ingredients with Asian influence. None of us could decide what to get, so we shared sushi, grilled octopus, and tandoori chicken; impossible to say which one was our favorite!
We had the privilege of sitting at one of the sunken tables under the sparkling lights in the trees. As we were finishing our craft cocktails at the end of our meal, another table was given a giant remote control to start a surprise fireworks show! It was certainly the most memorable meal of the trip.
Flora Farms in San José del Cabo
Flora Farms really puts the “farm” in farm-to-table – the restaurant is located right in the middle of a working farm! The setting is absolutely lovely, with a casual, yet elegant garden party feel, and a menu full of fresh produce grown steps away from our table. House-made gelato was the perfect way to end our meal on a classic hot day in Cabo.
Metate in Cabo San Lucas
Highly recommended to us, dinner Metate was certainly a treat! Tables are spread around a stone courtyard under lush greenery and hanging lanterns. The menu showcases a range of Mexican specialties that goes far beyond tacos (although the tacos were delicious too!). The vibe was eclectic and friendly, with a quirky and personable waitstaff. When you visit, don't forget to check out the sports cars and centuries old cactuses in the garden.
Bonus: Comal at Chileno Bay
We only had the time for drinks at Comal but want to return soon to experience a full meal! The setting was gorgeous, surrounded by live plants and overlooking the beach. And we’ve only ever heard amazing things about the food.
Our Top 3 Favorite Activities in Los Cabos
Sunrise Kayak
This was an early morning for us; we were up at 5:30am to meet our guide from the Compass Center on the beach at Montage. We paddled out in the earliest light of dawn and watched the sunrise over the ocean from our kayaks. The view was beautiful, and it was a great way to get out on the ocean before the true heat of the day!
Pedregal Spa
The Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal was truly a standout on our trip. The facilities are gorgeous, from the private pool right down to the locker rooms!
Treatments and refreshments are inspired by the phases of the moon, so different times in the month offering different soothing and reinvigorating experiences. Each spa session starts with a traditional foot washing ritual in a gorgeous space designed to immediately put you at ease. We would have spent our entire trip here if we could!
Snorkeling
Montage has one of the few swimmable beaches in Cabo, and just off the shore is a live coral reef with plenty of fish! The resort provides free snorkeling equipment for guests to use in the crystal-clear waters of Santa Maria Bay. The resort pools at Montage are all amazing, but sometimes you just can’t beat the real thing.
