Where are JWT clients traveling now? Top 7 destinations near and far.

For many people, this has been the longest travel hiatus of their lives.

However, with vaccination numbers rising, the CDC’s latest announcement of recommending travel for vaccinated citizens, and us all passing the 1-year mark of this pandemic, many Jessica White Travel clients are itching to travel.

Maybe it is time to emerge from hibernation (where we all have developed a serious case of cabin fever/wanderlust) and book a well-deserved vacation!?

So where are JWT clients traveling these days you ask?

Here are my top 7 destinations where clients are headed right now:

1. The Caribbean

What sounds better than a sunny escape to a beautiful beach in paradise with a piña colada in hand? Not much! The Caribbean has been a top destination with islands like St. Lucia and Antigua being popular getaways with reasonable testing requirements and lots to offer once you get there.

Jade Mountain Resort, St. Lucia

2. Out West

Heading out west where there is space to play in the great outdoors has been a hot spot this past year. From Jackson Hole to Colorado to Arizona, East Coasters are headed out West for adventure and relaxation. Wherever is on your bucket list, I have lots of ideas from luxury lodges, to glamping to desert casitas!

Amangiri, Utah

3. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is for those wanting what my Sri Lankan friend called “compact diversity” – it is a small island country with SO much to offer from leopard safaris, to beautiful beaches, a very rich culture, and UNESCO sites galore. Yearning for something exotic and far away since you have been staying so close to home? Sri Lanka fits the bill.

Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Yala National Park

4. Costa Rica

Costa Rica has not required a negative COVID-19 test for entry, which has been a big draw for those wanting to travel internationally. For active travelers and adventure lovers, Costa Rica has so much to do and explore both in the jungle and at the beach. I would love to put together that perfect adventure getaway for you!

Papagayo Explorers, Four Seasons Costa Rica

5. Along the East Coast

The East Coast has been the top destination for JWT the past year since it is so drivable for many of our clients. From luxury seaside resorts to mountain getaways to charming coastal towns, exploring the mid-Atlantic coast continues to be a great way to easily get away. As always when booking with JWT, with many resorts we can offer $100 credits, complimentary breakfast and other great perks.

6. Riviera Maya, Mexico

Mexico has been one of the most seamless destinations for our clients these days. With no negative COVID-19 test requirement for entry, and many of the resorts offering complimentary testing to get back to the US, it is a great option for those wanting to venture out of the US, and also get a great value for your dollar.

Rosewood Mayakoba, Riviara Maya

7. Florida

I was recently in Key West for a wedding, and I was not the only one headed down south for some Florida sunshine! Florida has been a popular place to escape to this winter, with so many restaurants and activities being outdoors and open throughout the pandemic. Looking for a fun Miami weekend or laid-back Keys getaway? I can definitely hook you up.

So, what destinations are on our radar for the rest of the year?

I am super excited about the countries who have recently nixed a negative COVID-19 test requirement for vaccinated travelers - for example Iceland and the Seychelles. I am hoping to see the trend continue, and this will open a lot of doors for those vaccinated.

Also I am thrilled to see cruise ships setting sail again. The trend is to require all crew and guests to be vaccinated – providing a very safe bubble environment for all. I am even booked for one of the first voyages on the Scarlet Lady, Virgin Voyages inaugural adults-only superyacht. Can’t wait to report back.

I have my eyes and ears open and am constantly working to stay up-to-date on latest travel updates for my clients. My morning ritual now has shifted to an hour of just reading travel news because there is so much to digest!
